iCloud Sync & Data Security
Understand how your data syncs across devices and stays secure with iCloud integration.
CashFlowly uses Apple's iCloud to sync your data across all your devices. Here's how it works and how your data stays secure.
How Sync Works
CashFlowly uses CloudKit, Apple's cloud database service. When you make changes:
- Changes are saved locally first (so the app works offline)
- When online, changes sync to your iCloud account
- Other devices signed into the same iCloud account receive the changes
Sync happens automatically in the background. You don't need to do anything.
What Syncs
- All businesses and their settings
- All books and their settings
- All entries with attachments
- Categories, contacts, payment modes
- Custom field definitions and values
Checking Sync Status
Go to Settings → App Settings to see your iCloud sync status:
- Active (green): Sync is working
- Not Signed In (red): Sign into iCloud in device settings
- Restricted/Unavailable: Check device settings or parental controls
Data Security
Your data is protected by multiple layers:
- Encryption in transit: All data is encrypted when traveling between your device and iCloud
- Encryption at rest: Data stored in iCloud is encrypted
- Apple ID protection: Only devices signed into your Apple ID can access your data
- No server access: We (SnipNFix) cannot access your iCloud data
Offline Support
CashFlowly works fully offline. All data is stored locally on your device. When you're back online, changes sync automatically. You never lose work due to connectivity issues.
Troubleshooting Sync
- Make sure you're signed into iCloud on all devices
- Check that CashFlowly has iCloud access in Settings
- Ensure you have enough iCloud storage
- Try toggling airplane mode to force a sync
Free vs Pro
iCloud sync is a Pro feature. Free users have local-only storage. Your data is still safe on your device, but won't sync to other devices.
